Doctor of Engineering Science, Professor.

    He had been studying at the Dnipropetrovsk Mining Institute in 1974 – 1979. After post-graduation, he had been working as senior researcher in 1982 – 1992, as a PhD in 1992 – 2000, as a professor in 2000 – 2009 at the Mining Machines Department. Then he has been working at the Mining Department as a professor since 2009.

    At present time, he gives a lecture and practical lessons on basic subjects: "Mechanics of Materials and Rocks", "Rock Mechanics", "Technology of Underground Mining of Mineral Deposits ", and "Mining Machines".

    Under his direction, students take part in research studies and speak at conferences, workshops in Ukraine and abroad.

    Students research results use in design projects, graduate works and work projects with mining enterprises of Ukraine.

    The most talented students take postgraduate designs at the Mining Department.

    His basic scientific activity is aimed on substantiation of ways of intensification of mining operations in coal mines Ukraine. It has next scientific problems:

-  predicting patterns of development anomalies of rock pressure and shear parameters rock massif with intensive development of coal seams;

-  development of management theory of rock pressure in coal face, first and permanent workings of coal mines;

-  ways and means scientific substantiation of mine workings saving technologies using rock mass strength properties.

     Total amount of research works is 226, including 5 handbooks and tutorials, 25 monographs, received 21 certificate of authorship and invention patents, published abroad 22 scientific articles with high citation ratio.
