Associate Professor at the Department of Mining Engineering and Education, PhD.

    In 2004, he graduated from the National Mining University on specialty "Mining of Mineral Deposits" (a diploma of master's degree with honors) and entered to postgraduate courses at the Mining Department. During 2007 – 2011, he worked as an assistant of Mining Department Since September 2011 holds a position of an associate professor of the department.

    He gives lectures and practical classes on following subjects: "Geotechnology of Mining", "Professional Functions and Tasks of Specialists" and conducts design projects, lecture and practical on subject "Design of Mining Production" with the students of distance education form of studies on the base of Pavlohrad Technical School of SHEE "NMU", and also manages the diploma projects of full-time course students and distance education form of studies.

     O. Gaidai combines scientific activity with pedagogical, methodical, organizational and public work. From 2005 to 2007 carried out the duties of an associate of mining faculty dean, and since March 2007 as an associate of mining faculty dean. Since November, 2011 works as the deputy of director of Institute of Distance Education.

     He is actively participated in realization of scientific student to the conference. Oleksandr has scientific works in co-authorship with students, constantly conducts scientific researches with participation of students. He conducts career guidance work among the students of high schools in Zhovti Vodi of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

     In March 2011, he defended candidate's thesis on specialty 05.15.02 "Underground Mining of Mineral Deposits". In addition, he participated as a performer of research works of university on themes GP – 391, GP – 410, GP – 422 and ОB – 48.

     Scientific activity of O. Gaidai is related to the improvement of underground development of thin and substandard coal seam on the base of technological decisions, increase quality of mining mass to the normative requirements of solid fuel; technology of production of solid organic fuel.

     Total amount of research works is 28, including (methodical developments are published and on electronic and web- resources), tutorial and textbook.
