Associate Professor at the Department of Mining Engineering and Education, PhD.
In 1990 finished the National Mining University, specialty "Underground Mining of Mineral Deposits" (diploma with honors). At the same time he entered to the postgraduate courses at the Mining Department. During 1990 – 2014, he has worked at the National Mining University, Research Associate, Senior Research Associate, an assistant lecturer and senior Lecturer of Mining Department.
He gives practical classes and lectures on following subjects "The Theory of Geodynamic Phenomena", "Mechanics of Materials and Rocks", "Theory of the Rock Mass Behavior". Enough attention is paid to students during the consultations.
V. Falshtynskyi combines active scientific activities with teaching and social work. During 1998 – 2007, he has worked as a deputy dean of the Mining Faculty, curator of student groups.
He took an active part in preparing students for nationwide competition in 2007 on "Mining".
Every year made occupational guidance for prospective students in secondary schools in Dnipropetrovsk and Pershotravensk.
In December 2006, he defended his thesis on specialty 05.15.02 – "Underground Mining of Minerals." He worked as research science of budgetary themes GP – 410 and GP – 440.
Science activity of V. Falshtynskyi are directed on the technology of borehole underground coal gasification (BUCG): development the parameters of underground gasifier impermeability, substantiation the adaptation processes of interaction the system "rock and coal – gasifier" during solid fuels gasification, development the eligibility criteria of coal deposits to underground coal gasification, development and implementation the laboratory unit for research the processes and parameters of BUCG, developed two construction design of the "Pidzemgaz" stations for mine "DTEK Pavlohradvyhillia" West Donbass coalfield and Tarnavska brown coal deposits, developed technological documentation of laboratory unit, methods research of the BUCG process according to contract Ministry of international trade and industry of Japan and firms JCOAL and Mitsui (2000 – 2001), developed technological scheme of underground gasifier for the mine Barbara (Poland) as part of the project "HUGE", contract № CT-2007-00006 (2009 – 2011), "Implementation the technology of underground coal gasification in Western Donbass on laboratory unit for product the energy and chemical products" contract 10-0/820-U/010176, 2011 – 2012 with "DTEK Pavlohradvuhillia", "Substantiation eligibility criteria and parameters of coal seams gasification of Solenovsk, Seleznevsk deposits and coal seams "Kuzbass" contract 010179/22480ds, 2011 – 2013 with PJSC "Donetsksteel".
During implementation, the technology of BUCG SPHV was an established personal relationship with scientists from Poland, Slovakia, China, Germany and Russia.
Total amount of research works is 111, among them: 7 monographs, tutorial, a manual, 70 scientific articles, 6 methodical works, 26 patents.
