Doctor of Engineering Science, Professor, Director of the Mining Institute, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine, Honored Professor of NMU.
He has been studied at the National Mining University in 1965 – 1970. Volodymyr served in Armed Forces of the Ukraine in 1970 – 1972. He had been working on "Uvileina" mine PJSC "Pavlohradvugillia" during 1973 – 1975. Since 1975, he had been working at the Mining Department as assistant, associate professor, and professor. He is working as dean of Mining faculty and director of Mining University since 2001.
V. Buzylo gives lectures to third and four-year students on basic disciplines: "Basic Conceptions of Mining Production" and "Technology of Underground Mining of Mineral Deposits", also for master`s and postgraduate students on the design "Higher Education and Bologna Process".
Volodymyr tightly works in scientific sphere, he is supervisor of complex project GP – 440 "Physical-and-Technical Elements of Energy Saving Technology on Underground Mining of Thin and Very Thin Coal Seams".
V. Buzylo takes participation in works of two specialized scientific council of defense of PhD and doctoral theses.
For recent five year, V. Buzylo published over 30 scientific papers, among them 4 textbook and 14 monographs. He took participation and reported on international conference "Szkola Eksploatacji Podziemnej" (Krakow) and annual international "School of Underground Mining".
His basic scientific activities directed on problems of mineral extraction:
- scientific substantiation of thin coal seam developments;
- substantiation of limit parameters of concentration mine operations while undermine of superimposed coal seams;
- control of stress-strain state of rock massif around mine workings with large cross-section;
- scientific substantiation of parameters of coal pillar mining by chambers.
Total amount of research works is 233, including 4 handbooks, 20 monographs, received 5 certificates of authorship and invention patents, published 12 scientific articles with high citation ratio abroad.
